I like having windows open for fresh air in the winter.

My 4th floor apartment gets HOT when it's cold out. I almost always have at least one window open. (And I run cold, so for a normal person they'd probably need more.) Older buildings were actually designed this way to increase air circulation in the winter months.

Is there a Walmart in that neighborhood that I was not aware of? Nearly half the population of JC doesn't have a car.

If you ever spent any amount of time in that neighborhood or around Berry Lane Park, you'd know that parking is much easier to come by there than anywhere else in town that we have farmers' markets. And that The Factory only gets busy at night. Farmers markets are usually in the morning and early afternoon.

It's super weird. I figured they'd be easy to catch since they may have paid with a credit card, dozens of people probably saw the accident and got the license plate number, and the car had really distinctive damage as a result of the crash.

People at Heights Fitness are fucking disgusting. Yes. And even if they didn't, there's no harm in wearing one. I also find it very helpful for my allergies.

I was mostly going to my dates' homes or just working around my mom's schedule. It wasn't a big deal. But again I was only interested in casual dating at the time, I thought I was aromantic. (Surpising everyone including myself I am now finding myself in my first long term relationship well into my late thirties!) Living at home might be different if you're looking for a serious relationship but I wouldn't know.

I moved out at 22, I was making $20/hr. Moved back home at 24 when my dad got cancer. Stayed until he died, stayed for a few more years to help my mom (she never lived alone before and my dad handled a lot of the bills and household tasks so she didn't know how to do them) and save money. I didn't have any long term relationships by choice, and did date around successfully. Moved back out at 29 making like $30/hr. But this was a while ago so inflation, etc. I don't regret moving back home and I think with the economy the way it is it is totally understandable.

LOL people have not gotten better with wiping down equipment, they're disgusting. I just went back to the gym for the first time since before covid (masked with a kn95 and trying to distance) and wipe down everything before I use it as well because people are disgusting.
I'm not the OP but I'm high risk because I have an autoimmune disease and also I have a job that gets extremely fucked up if I call out sick or expose anyone else to covid.

I was in MA yesterday and decided to stop into a dispensary. They had five times as many different products as my favorite NJ dispensary, and everything was about 2/3 of the price.

We were entirely isolated the week before I had surgery because if I got covid they'd cancel the surgery.
LOL I'm getting down voted because I tried not to get covid before a planned surgery? Or because my partner probably picked up covid in a crowded waiting room full of coughing people during peak covid season?

My partner was masked and I was in surgery so I didn't really have a choice as to if I was wearing one or not. I'm more diligent than most about mask wearing (15+ hour workdays, basically anywhere public, not going out to eat or indoor events when case numbers are high)
ScumbagMacbeth t1_j876431 wrote
I had surgery about a month ago and masks were required in the waiting room but not well enforced, some people weren't wearing one at all. My partner got covid while waiting for me and then I got it while I was still recovering from surgery. It really sucked.

I've had drivers ACTIVELY try to run me over on my bike. I also had a bottle thrown at me while I was riding. Try riding a bike around here sometime, it's intense. Also look at some articles on cyclist deaths in NYC. Drivers are rarely punished at all. Murder could be legal if you do it with a car.

Never. If traffic is bad I take the PATH instead of the bus. Once in a blue moon I MIGHT do it but it would either be a weird circumstance (getting out of a 16 hour workday at 2 AM) or if I was running super late already.

The Heights isn't a transit desert at all. I'm a 20 minute walk from 2 different PATH stations and a 2 minute walk from several different bus lines. When I'm working Manhattan, I generally take the bus round trip six days a week. It's great. I take the PATH if I'm going in for fun on the weekend.

I wear a mask almost everywhere (public transport, work, stores, movie theater, gym) and I've only had someone ever even say something to me about it twice. I don't get weird looks or remarks.
