Interesting, I guess that’s why the stores like h&r advertise fronting the money.

Just remember, getting it early through a 3rd party such as H&R Block (for example) means paying a fee, which often is a percentage of your expected tax revenue. Additionally, if it turns out you are not entitled to a refund, you may have to pay back the company, that paid you the advance. And if you end up owing taxes, you will still need to pay the IRS, on top of whatever company you owe
In my opinion, it is best to wait. You get more of your money back and if there was a mistake, you don't end up in a possible hole.
Agreed
Filed 1/29, MA deposited 2/17
What does your masstax connect say?
MA State taxes always take longer than Fed.
I filed both Fed and MA Feb 14th. Got Fed back on the 16th. Which is abnormally fast and was not a "Loan" type of thing. MA State I am not expecting for another couple of weeks. Which is ok since that traditionally goes to the electric bill for us.
Weeks for state? I just revived my fed yesterday
Yeah, state is usually much longer than Fed for us. But nothing can beat this years Fed turn around of TWO FREAKING DAYS. And again, not one of those "loans" that many of the tax preparers use to get people in the door
I filed about 3 weeks ago and got my federal refund yesterday and irs to go says my deposit date. But masstextconnext still says processing? Is that normal? Or should I be worried?
Filed 1/28 getting fed back on 23rd my state still says processing been that way for 3 weeks
Has it updated for you at all yet?
Generally, they say to expect up to 3 weeks for processing
Is processing mean approvedalready ?
Yes, if the data was accurate and there were no red flags, they say it can take up to three weeks for release of payment.
Took me 14 days, good luck
7 days is nothing. It takes 4-6 weeks if you file electronically. 8-12 if you file by paper.

Opinion:
It has been my experience, that there is no rushing the IRS, and it takes as long as it takes. I recall once filing early and receiving my refunds over two or three months later, while someone I knew filed late, and received their refund in a week or so. It really can sometimes seem like the luck of the draw, and it's why I do not ever suggest people "plan" things around their refund.
