Damn, sorry to hear. Also, it's kind of crazy at the end of the article how they just casually mention that the plant handles sewage treatment for a bunch of surrounding homes... yikes!

Welcome to the hills of Northwest MA. The sewage pipes my house uses are original clay.

Wanted to respond but got busy, if you are looking for manufacturing VSS, Pelican and BETE Spray Nozzles are all here or near Greenfield and frequently hiring. Take a look at them.

I wouldn’t advise Pelican. They pay terrible and treat their employees like garbage. The other two have decent reputations though.

Sorry that that's happening. It's a shitty position to be in. I hope things work out for you quickly.

I'm sure energy costs played a big role in this

If you read the article, it sounds more like the fines from their accidental pollution of the adjacent river in 2019 made it hard for them to stay profitable.
Medium_Egg1968 t1_izc7689 wrote
I'm sure the fines played a roll but let's be real here. Electricity and oil are tremendously more expensive than they were just a couple years ago. Let's not be silly and pretend that isn't putting a strain on small businesses.

That place looks like the most depressing place in the universe to go to every day.
The world did you a favor. Don’t squander it.

Many factories are ugly, but inside are magical places. Raw materials in, finished products go out. Its not for everyone, but manufacturing plants can be truly wonderful. Manufacturing is also one of the few industries that provides upward mobility for people who are willing to learn, but may not have degrees, etc.

Nvm the beautiful works of engineering that go into them

Fuck off man, factories all look like this on the outside but inside is a tight knit group of folks working hard. Colrain is a beautiful place. This is a sad day
