He was a guy who believes he was on a mission from God to convert a tribe that does not have contact to the outside world and they will kill outsiders on sight. And so he went to the island alone and got killed

on a side note, I’d love for him to make another Trek movie. I rather enjoyed Beyond, and Sofia Boutella was a wonderful addition to the cast. Should they ever make a sequel, I’d love for her to return

Star Trek Beyond was great. I felt he was great at being able to adapt the silliness of the Star Trek show but gave it a modern twist.
Boutella just fit in so well with the rest of the cast. I hope we get a 4th one but it's looking less and less likely by the day.
