The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) is number one? This list is bad, but then consider the source.

I think it has a genuine claim to first place. Maybe the best ending to a movie ever.

Have you seen the movie? It's stupendous

Why in the world would Rob Zombie’s sequel to Halloween be on any top 100 horror list? That nulled this list immediately

And sorry - Get Out needs to be higher than 100

Yes and stupendous would not be a word to describe it. It is decent, at best.

I can think of about 20 horror films that are well above that one. Hell, Get Out, which was at 100 was better.

You can praise films for their influence while also acknowledging other films have surpassed them

I can’t really think of many I’d put above it. Maybe Halloween, The Shining, The Thing, Return of the Living Dead…I like Green Room a lot. They’re contenders for sure but it’s a classic for a reason.

I can, about 40 to 50 other movies on this list. Green Room was pretty good. I put the Texas Chainsaw Massacre around the same league as the Blair Witch Project. It was novel for its time, but ultimately an ok movie.

You'd be surprised at the re-appraisal that film has received over the years, it just got included in BFI's 1-horror-film-per-year list too.

Guess it’s all about opinion so no one is really right or wrong. I enjoyed the first remake thought it was a cool different perspective and a solid movie something I can rewatch. I tried to give the sequel a few tries and it is unwatchable for me. His wife is such a atrocious actor in my opinion
