You need to watch the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Best movie ever made. Then you can skip the sequels for now (they don't really follow a real linear storyline anyways) and watch the remake. Evil Dead is a great trilogy. The remake of Night of the Living Dead is better than the original in some ways, that's also a series that doesn't really follow a storyline through the series so you can watch in any order. Waxwork from the 80s is always a fun watch. American Gothic isn't really a gore or slasher but it's definitely a mind fuck. The Sleep away Camp series is great for 80s gore.... If Halloween is your favorite it sounds like you'll prefer 80s slashers so look from there.

I always like to warn people about Evil Dead 2. Like if you watch them back to back, you're going to wonder why you're watching the same movie but funny. Both are great, and I don't recommend skipping either. But it's good to know going in.

Warning- they lost the rights to the original movie so instead of using flashbacks and scenes from the first one they kind of rewrote it and used the rewrite for the first part of the movie. (There, he's been warned lol)
