Hi all,

Next spring, I would love to take my car on a track for the first time!

I recently moved to NH, and haven’t actually taken my car to a track before (although I have been to one with a friend), so am looking for suggestions!

Northern MA or even Rhode Island, etc should also be fine if the track is worth it.

Thank you!

What kind of car? I see a lot of oval tracks mentioned here.

Edit: road courses - Club Motorsports, NHMS, Thompson, Palmer, Lime Rock

Get on route 3 south around 8 p.m between Bedford and Nashua. You can raise with bunches of other drivers.

https://www.scca.com/pages/find-your-fun You will probably find more events when it isn't the middle of the winter. Also there are a bunch of clubs that do various track days/high performance driving events.

This is a somewhat complicated thing to do and will require a significant amount of research and preparation. Make sure your car will actually pass tech inspection and that you have the required safety equipment such as a helmet and whatever else they specify. Also this will cost you in the neighborhood of $300-500/day assuming you don't break anything.

The only tracks I personally have any real interest in around here are Palmer motorsports park and the NHMS road course. Although I have had some good times messing around on oval tracks when we found one that was "run what ya brung" for $50/night and let us do whatever we wanted.

Depending on what you are looking for, in addition to the others mentioned already check out MassTuning, they run some track events at a bunch of tracks in New England. Also, if you are just looking to get your feet wet with the car check out Sports Car Club of New Hampshire (SCCNH). We put on parking lot autocross events and trackcross events at Canaan Motor Club.

Join the Porsche Club of America and you will be linked with the local association. I’ve been to the New England region track events and they do a great job. Very civilized group and great drivers education.

You should look into COM. They do weekend events all over New England and have amazing instructors.

MassTuning is by far the best HPDE group in New England. They are super affordable and you don't have to pay a yearly club due. They have events in every track in the northeast.
