I don't know anything about Washington Heights, but Camden is one of the least safe cities in New Jersey.

I feel much safer in washington heights. Camden was once the most dangerous city in the entirety of the USA. No one ever told you “dont stop at the red lights” in washington heights. Camden has gotten better than a decade ago for sure, however, its crime areas are no joke. Camden and Philly and ruthless.

Camden has a violent crime rate of 13.78 per 1000 residents. Washing heights has a violent crime rate of 11.7 per 1000
