Something like this may have taken place on Jan 1st, but this is the Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside Heights 2023, which happened today (2/25/2023).

There are many plunges throughout the state. There are a few popular ones on 1/1 including AC and Coney Island. This is the Special Olympics Polar Plunge which is the most popular, they raised over $2.5M for SO, and was the largest plunge in the state with over 7,500 people!
