Libraries often sell books for cheap. I've purchased paperbacks as low as a quarter and hardcovers for a dollar.

The Asbury Book Co-op in Asbury Park has a good selection of used books. I believe that they are having a sometime in April. All books will be $1.

The Paperback Exchange in Belmar. The books are well read most of the time so it is not really for collecting, just if you want to read a lot of cheap books.

To read, or some art project? If you are looking for lowest price per pound auctions would be a good source. Auctionzip.com is a good starting place.

There’s loads of flea markets scattered around the state and you can get some good finds. Englishtown auction is huge, there’s also Columbus flea market that’s pretty big as well. People are always selling used books for super cheap.
