Seconded. We need some detail here OP

Yes, some alarm bells went off for me too. 23 is a bit young to lose track of someone and have to fly to another country to blindly search them out.
If this is a romantic interest OP. take a long look at your situation before you do this. There are better ways to find someone than stalking them to another continent.

Lol does sound very stalkish. Basically our friend in our friendship group had dual citizenship of both British & American. He was abused quite badly throughout his life from drugged up parents. He always said how he wanted to run away to his extended relatives in Piscataway. Last year he packed everything up & did a run & couldn’t reach him by phone. We just miss & want to see him one last time.

So you’re in Piscataway, now what? Do you know their address? Do you have any other way of contacting them other than the phone? Did they acknowledge you were trying to visit them?
You may not mean it but this just sounds creepy. I can’t imagine going to another country for a lost friend I haven’t communicated with in a year, guessing and searching for where they might be…

Tell us more about this friend who doesn't have a phone, email, or social media accounts

Dude isn’t on Facebook, he doesn’t want to be found 😂

Maybe they don't want to be found OP.
If you do decide to go through with it, Piscataway is a nice area near a major university. The States' public transit system is not like EUs so you may want an international drivers permit to get around better or youll be spending a ton in Uber.

I’d call Piscataway a dense suburb. There are many people and it’s a bit congested, but not really walkable. You’ll definitely need to know someone with a car or plan to spend money on Uber. It’s reasonably close to NYC, so that’s a plus! Be sure to check out New York if you’ve never been.

Check out Philadelphia as well a lot historic stuff to do there. Check the shore. Enjoy your stay. Car is a must to get around unless you are willing to get Uber. Get a prepaid sim for your phone and data need. Usually Visible wireless gives 30 days for free. Have fun!

I live in a neighboring town of piscataway. We are one hour away from everything or a little more than that. New York city, the shores, Philadelphia are all just an hour away. Any major Transit is close but you'll need to take an Uber to a train station in a neighboring town like Dunellen, Bound Brook, or New Brunswick. Feel free to reply to me if you have any specific questions about the area or need guidance.

Um. This sounds a bit stalker-ish.
What do you mean "find"?
