Yeah, now the can increase the tolls at will. People complain a lot more when they are actually pulling money out of a wallet vs a monthly bill.

What??? How does that logic work? The vast vast majority of people already use EZPass and read the amount from the sign and don't pull out a wallet. There is also a huge formal process for toll-setting, which was previously basically whenever they wanted but recently changed it to inflation-based.

Also, if we wanted tolls that charged whatever, we would do dynamic tolls that charged based on demand. (which I would support, but that's a separate issue)

If you check your statement, the amount drawn is always more than you actually use. So the ez-pass earns interest in your money. Even when your on vacation they have your money in their account!
