I knew Mississippi would be the worst. I'm not sure why I even looked at the list to find out.

Sometimes it feels good to reiterate what we already know.

If Mississippi were in the middle of the list, you'd be thinking "Good thing I checked; this list in an article on the internet is clearly flawed!"
That's another reason why you look for what you already know.
(Now that I think of it, that's probably what the authors of the list would have done; "if Mississippi's not last, then our scoring methodology must have a flaw...")

Funny how the lowest ranked Northeast state is still higher than the highest ranked Southern state.

We moved here in 2020. We like everything except the property taxes.
We used to live in CT which had property taxes at like half the rates of most towns in NJ, but still the same quality schools, snow cleanup, and waste management. Hoping for the same for NJ.
bakerfaceman t1_j6ac0mk wrote
We need municipal consolidation for that. CT has much larger towns than NJ.
scyber t1_j6ak6z9 wrote
Snow clean up and waste management is on a municipality by municipality basis. Some towns include it.

In the 'Best' rankings, that is.
