I wouldn't believe Russia if they said it was raining, I'd check.

The old Russian paradox in action:

- we are so strong and the world should respect us (through fear and awe)

- 50 people attacked Russia and we are a victim who needs simpathy.

Well, which one fucking is it Russia?

Calling them crybabies implies they're being sincere, this is 100% about pushing a "both sides" narrative to dampen support for Ukraine.

They're targeting the passively ignorant types who will tell themselves, "I'm against the war in general and it sounds like both sides are hurting civilians, supporting Ukraine just prolongs a war that's ultimately none of my business so I'm against my country giving them any more aid."

I wonder if there is a way to donate to freedom fighter groups inside Russia.

...and a number of my very left-wing conspiratorial-minded friends swallow Russian propaganda without salt or even chewing. Got a few that are still telling me that Ukraine is filled with Nazis and Putin is just doing what he needs to in order to protect Russia... It's bonkers.

I don't believe this for a second. Of course the same can be said for every statement coming from Russia.

Here is how you can tell if Russia is lying, they're speaking...

one country's terrorist attack is another country's defense against an illegal invasion

I mean, the US goes half way across the world to bomb weddings because “terrorism” yet they can’t explain how those people are going to make it to the mainland

Even if Ukraine did, so what? Mariupol would like a word. It is kind of a side effect when you go to war with another country. If you reduce their cities to rubble, you should expect that there is a good chance one of your cities may be reduced to rubble.

a war, you vodka swilling schlups. you're being attacked because you're in a war. I'd call them a bunch of mongoloids, but the mongols are a fine upstanding lot compared to these mooks.

Russia, truly the most innocent of military powers. Why do these awful random events keep happening to them when they've done nothing? /s

If you're attacking Ukraine, the sites you launch those attacks from are fair game. As well as the infrastructure you need to support the invasion. A few small groups could do a lot of damage in Russia, without the bad press of bombing civilians. If nothing else, having to commit resources to tracking them down means those resources aren't being used to invade Ukraine.

I don’t think anyone ever told vlad it’s not Opposite Day anymore. It’s so funny how trumps entire strategy was basically copy pasted from his Russian handlers, like literally “whatever happens just say it was the opposite”

Funny use of the phrase "terrorist attack" for possibly attacks made by a country you are actively at war with. I guess when the USSR marched into Berlin in '45 that was a terrorist attack. When the brits and US landed on normandy in '44 that was a terrorist attack.
