Not all colleges are off at the same time. You'd have to shut down for 2.5 months which I don't think a lot of businesses can swing.

While they don't occur at the same time, most are over 2-3 weeks. Still, losing a month out of the year would put many business' out of business.

Majority influx is only 2 weeks but that is still a lot for small businesses.
