I’d be really curious as to the regular Indian views on Modi and his Russian support.

Putin is quite popular in India. India and Russia enjoy excellent relationship (people to people level also) due to Brezhnev’s help with the war of 1971 and Stalin’s shipments of food grains in 1950s.

What is curious is that Indian right hates democrats (for obvious reasons) and that’s why relations with US deteriorated as soon as Biden took office. India was very close to US under Bush, Obama and Trump.

Regular indian (not reddit echo chamber) views are pretty decent for Modi and his Russian Support. Particularly because Modi is following policies which are best for his country and to not just follow the rest of Western alliances.

I believe not many countries have distinction today to be on good terms with the US and Russia at the same time. Just like Europe, India has been able to source Oil from Russia because it has to worry about its energy security needs.

Do they see no value in liberal democracy, or is it just that immediate needs like power and heat naturally override most people's desire for a better government ? Because obviously the average person isn't going to choose freezing or starving if they see no path to a better government, even if "radicals" would take the chance and continue to oppose a bad government with the belief that a good government can be created.

Oh, I didn't realize you were some nut who thinks protesters should be harmed.

Hardly a support. what should we do? Support the country(usa) that strengthened our enemy and tried to kill us?
