Reading this update from you and how Pamela says her young boy once was and who he became…I worry about your own son. Please keep him safe!

It's unclear... My impression was that the change in his personality was due to the head trauma (an actual predictor of violent crime in adults). You may be right though.

I want to believe Derek is safe but sometimes I just don’t know…

Watch for the starts of hostility. It wasn't until after the poor kid was beaten by his father that he became...damaged. The thing with that, it could've been brain damage. Or it even could've been effects of the event itself. He forgot his father existing, but the event still happened. His brain knows the event happened. It's trauma. There's just no longer a person to match to that trauma. He probably never went to see a therapist. His innocence was stripped away when he was just old enough to start really remembering.

Yeah, I also think it was that, since nobody else changed, neither Caroline, nor Pamela nor our characters.

I didn't think about that! It's so sadistic how the son in Pamela's story murdered his own sister - I honestly cannot believe that he could do that, first time or not (at least in his memory) Its so scary to think about the fact that she has a son... And a daughter... It's a horrific thought to put it lightly.
