How if no one will hire him? You can't really apply for a job without an address, there are exceptions but they are few and far between. We need comprehensive assistance to get people back on their feet, and we can make it compulsory.

You really don't know much about the blue collar working class that surrounds you. The reality is the vast majority of construction companies don't care where you live just that you can show up 15 minutes before work starts, stay sober and that you can physically bust your hump for the entire day in a competent manner.

The reality is, the vast majority of homeless people don't have the means to show up 15 minutes before work starts, and have some sort of physical or health problem that prevents them from being physically capable of busting their hump for the entire day in a competent manner.

You act like that would fix a majority of it.
There is either mental health issues. Which many cannot afford to get treatment for or refuse to.
Drug abuse cannot afford to treat or refuse to get off.
They then expect folks to give money or help them when many refuse to help themselves as they can get more begging/stealing/jumping either other people or other homeless folk for said things.
They are just as good/bad as the normal folks are. The difference is they many times over had folks before them ruin the chance for coming back to their own feet cause "homeless or druggies/crazies/bums"
If we had places to put them. I doubt it would help long term as many are so "street" set. Even when given chances cause issues.
Mini homes for them? Folks have set fires from cooking in them when told not to or due to trying to do drugs.
Hotel rooms? Same issue as above.
Someone opens the doors to them? Stolen from. threatened/raped/assaulted.

You act as if I said it would. And then you let loose a bunch of pent up classist bullshit.
bluecollar1020 t1_iu7n1zm wrote
Classist? WTF do you know about class? You're most likely from a nice safe bourgeois middle class home and have been pampered all your life. The reality is people who hold your beliefs are the class enemies. You're the one putting the lumpenproletariat before the working class. Every tax dollar spent on street junkies, bums, and the lazy is a tax dollar not going to helping working class and poor kids succeed in life. Your taking tax dollars from kids and handing it middle aged, middle class bums to shove in their arms. Yes, 25-30 is middle aged as many won't see 50. Your bs is exactly what is going to get radical reactionary rightist into office.

That is what you said. "physical or health problems" I said mental problems and physical
So you can say it and its not classiest but I say it. It is?
Get off your damn high horse and for being a pos trying to say something I didn't.
Statistics and stereotypes are things based on given fact/truth. Sadly lots of homeless want a chance. But don't do anything to their "Fellow" brethren when they ruin it for the rest. 1 bad apple spoils the bunch.

I provided a reason for why they're unable to do the things OP claimed.
You wrote a fictional novel giving every reason you could come up for why they're unworthy of empathy.
If you can't see the difference, I can't help you.
Edit:
And heres some statistic for your claims that all homeless people are drug abusers: Only 10-15% of homeless people use drugs vs. 13% from the general population
So someone needs to go back and check their statistic and make sure they align with their bullshit stereotypes, and it ain't me.

Dont want help from someone like you who will damn others for pointing out given facts and proven ones as to why the help given already should be enough and as much as humanity and goodwill should be given to all. Some abuse it or refuse to do good for themselves.
donkeylipsh t1_iu9osm3 wrote
You're not pointing out facts. You're spreading lies you ignorant dumbass.
Homeless people are more likely to be the victim of a violent crime than to commit it.
Housed people commit violent crime at higher rates than the homeless.

Thats new york at shelters. The shelters meant to be safe locations for them. If they themselves refuse to be good onto themselves and others in the same postion as them. Why give them more when they squander what they got already?
donkeylipsh t1_iua733d wrote
God damn you're dumb. Read your own source:
>Statistics represent arrests occurring at homeless shelter locations and do not reflect location of offense precipitating arrest or arrestee association with shelter.
bluecollar1020 t1_iu7m54a wrote
Yeah what you are describing are issues with drugs and being lazy. Fuck them, write them off and send them on their way.
Because the Reactionary right will pick up many races it is the working class that will pay. Just as every tax dollar spent on junkies and the lazy is a tax dollar that will not go to working class and poor kids insuring they will succeed in life.

Cute. You're doing the same thing, but mockingly.

Made up statistic. Keep to verifiable facts if you want to prove a point.
>and have some sort of physical or health problem that prevents them from being physically capable of busting their hump for the entire day in a competent manner.
Another made up statistic.
