Any recommendations for getting to Mount Vernon from NYC?

Would love to get to one of these games but seems like a bit of a hassle without a car.

5 train up to Eastchester then a 8 minute bus ride, 6 minute Uber, or a 30 minute walk

I was told to take the Metro North train from Grand Central 4 stops to Pelham. The walk from the stadium is under 1 mile and passes pizza shops, bars, parks, etc...

I hear the new stadium is beautiful and should be worth the effort to get there.
