NYC has among the lowest suicide rates in the country because suicide with a (legal) gun is the most reliable method and legal guns are hard to come by around here.

Just because you can recall a number of recent suicides doesn't mean they're particularly common. It's like this sub keeps forgetting that NYC's population is almost 9 million and that "per capita" is a thing.

That may be true but from the statistics I’ve seen, suicide has been up since the beginning of Covid
