Sounds like they’re turning the inability to obtain a liquor license into a trend to still make some profit.

You are right. They are paying for influencers and have also paid for this story.

Seriously this is stupid lmao they know when people drink they get frivolous with spending. They’d 10000% prefer a liquor license. I’m definitely not ordering multiple rounds of “mockshots”

At the least ones referenced in this story it’s not the case

One is a pop up concept specifically to be non alcoholic. Hekate is just a coffee shop, the owners also own a bar across the street.

Idk, I feel like soberity is trending upwards, I think peeps will keep trying it and eventually some will stick. I know multiple people who orders mocktails

Yeah but also as a long term bartender, a lot of people have quit since Covid and the hugely growing Asian population don’t drink much. Nyc night life has sucked for a while, another nail in the coffin

What a nonsense take. Where do you bartend

I’ve been bartending in fine dining for 25 years. I’m sure you know better lol. Non alcoholic cocktails are on every menu. Ten years ago it was unheard of. Now go away

Every cocktail is a mocktail without alcohol added to it? What a groundbreaking take. Asian population growing in nyc and not drinking much? Even more groundbreaking. Gtfo

Just so you know. Statistics and research show that Asian populations in the US are overwhelmingly lower rates of drinking than other ethnicities and are at the bottom for alcohol consumption. So when they say Asian populations in the US don’t drink as much, that is true.

Here’s just a few studies

And a nyc related one

I don’t know why the hostility. I’ve never been a drinker and I’m so stoked bars and restaurants are finally including non alcoholic options. It always seems so stupid to me not to at least think of pregnant women or designated drivers at the very least.

Making a blanket statement about literally billions of people is nonsense.

Only 50% (some say 30%) of office workers work in the city now. So you got a big brain drain and Debby Downer has entered the chat and she drinks mocktails and is interestingly Asian!
