Initial Budget was $1500 - $2000 with a $150k salary. Hmmm This is also another broader issue. folks who only make $60k - $80k and more limited options are competing with folks who make $150k+ for the same apartments. And generally the landlord will go with the prospect with higher income + savings in addition to credit. Kind of sucks to be competing with someone who makes double what you make

I feel for you.

This is the one time my laziness was a benefit. I didn't feel like looking at apartments during covid but was jealous of all the folks getting luxury units in great neighborhoods for the same price as my Flatbush one bed. I'd have been fucked when they raised them back to market rate post covid.

Now my one bed would probably rent for $400 more than I'm paying rn if it were market rate. And it'd likely have a brokers fee.

I hadn't been on the bridge in years and happened to foolishly think I could add a jog across on my run.

360 degree selfie vendors, photographers, artists, folks selling license plates...vendors LINED the bridge. I don't remember this being the case pre-bike path removal.

I ended up walking 80% of the way it was so crowded with tourists and vendors. That was my fault. Sticking to the touristless Manhattan bridge from now on.
