Can you imagine the prices? I live in the Bronx, near the ferry and I don't think I'll be going there anytime soon. They didn't do what they said, helping individuals who had a weed conviction would get the first licenses.
Actually they did exactly that, along with providing licenses to local non-profits, like, you know, Housing Works. Don't shame them for simply being organized and opening first.
and how exactly will the executives of housing works “help” people with a conviction? because they will hire them to be a budtender for $39,000 a year? look up how much their CEO makes and ask yourself how much more that will increase while they “help.”
You're confused. Housing works has no requirement to hire convicted folks. The state gave licenses to convicted folks AND non-profits. Housing Works just happened to open first.
Prices are just about what I expected starting out. $40, $55, and $60 1/8s. Pretty much the same price point I’ve seen in states with rec markets just starting. Looked to me like they gave licenses to people that met the criteria they explained beforehand, what makes you say they didn’t? There are many more licenses already issued, just still in the process of opening. Like the article says, Housing Works was just first to get all their shit straight
