Edited to UPDATE: I got a letter in the mail today:

> Due to a technical issue, your January 30, 2023 ZipCheck payment was erroneously revered and a bad payment fee of $20 was added to your water account. There was no impact to your bank account, we did not take any additional funds from your bank account. The Water Revenue Bureau will reapply your ZipCheck payment and remove the fee from your water bill. This process takes a few days and doesn't require any action on your part.

So I guess all is well.


I just got a water bill which is very strange. It has this going on:

Your Account
Balance at last bill $73.62
Adjustments $73.62
Paid on 2/3/23 -$73.62
Unpaid Balance $73.62

The fuck is that? They somehow adjusted my account to seem like I didn't pay? And THEN down below there's a $20 Return Payment fee -- which is bullshit, because I'm on autopay. It didn't get returned--it can't.

I already sent an email and will call tomorrow, but that's some bullshit, right? I seem to remember someone else on here posting about water bill weirdness but I can't find it.

I have autopay set up for the day the bill is due and every month the bill says I have two months due. Then, the "Your autopay is scheduled" email comes out a few days later for the correct amount.
