I think the point they were making is that the news feeds into the suburban viewers' mentality that the city is dangerous and chaotic, so the footage of this crash is for them.

It’s the same news. It’s what happened today that’s interesting in the area. It’d still be reported on

The commissioner got into a car accident. That’s news. City or suburbs. Media video footage is a part of news.

You realize the news chooses what content to cover based on what will get the highest ratings, right? It's not some altruistic entity of truth and equality.

You realize the news is going to cover major news of high ranking city officials that gets attention in both cities and suburbs?

I guess the alternative would be the city is largely uneducated vs suburbs and doesn’t care about the news? As someone who does live in the city, I’m happy for the suburban folk allowing me as a city resident to hear about the city news.
