It's crazy how many bands you would expect to see at FM Pavilion are playing the Mann, anyone know why everyone seems to be blackballing FM Pavilion?

The FM schedule looks busy though not full. I’m guessing some tours will choose an alternative over Live Nation venues when they can.
I was thinking that might be it.
The Mann is also live nation these days
Is that what we're calling the Tweeter Center now?
They use ticket master but i really don’t think they are owned by LN as they’re a non-profit that solicits donations and provides receipts for tax purposes.
Is FM Pavillion what we're calling Camden these days? Mann is way better anyway.
I don’t think they are either but I think live nation does all the other stuff around it like promotion and whatnot. When you get a mixed drink in the cocktail shaker it says live nation on it
Blockbuster E-centre always and forever
I’ve noticed something similar, felt like last summer the Mann had over a dozen shows I wanted to see where Camden had maybe 1 or 2 that I was interested in. Seems like the artists have a big preference for the Mann over Camden
Phish for example is choosing to do a 2 night run at the Mann this summer and did the same last summer, when they could’ve booked Camden and sold an extra 10k tickets per night. No idea what the reason could be tho
I really like the Mann, I do. But the lines of sight on the lawn are awful if you're not in front of the cement walkway and the sound is incredibly muddy. The parking attendants this summer at Phish were fantastic, super organized and yelled at appropriate times/volume.
The nitrous tanks are ridiculously out of hand, and while they're also at Camden, it seemed much worse at the Mann. The food options are really limited, too.
Camden has a kind of shifty parking situation if you're not in the close lots, but the sound is WAY better on the lawn, as well as the line of sight. Watching the sun set over Philly during shows on the lawn is such a beautiful addition, and I was kind of miffed that the Mann was chosen again for Phish's summer tour stop in Philly.
That Tweezerfest last summer was fantastic, though.
There are like 2 week gaps in the FM schedule as of now which for the fact that everyone and their mother are touring seems insane.
I for one, welcome it. Getting out of Camden after a concert is a nightmare. You either stay for encore and hang out for a couple hours or leave early or you’re extra fucked no matter what form of transportation you take.

the ferry ain't bad

They rent the Mann from the city. It says live nation an all the staff uniforms.
Crazy take. The mann is vastly superior for phish. The line of sight is better at Camden, but pretty much nothing else.
*95. Saw Tom Petty there that summer. Everything else you said is 💯
The Mann, on a nice clear summer night, is a magical venue. I also love the Dell but there is rarely a great show. I saw Paul Simon on his Graceland tour and it was one of my favorite concerts ever.
Wasn’t the Mann formerly the Robin Hood Dell?
It’s a different venue but it does trace its origins to the Dell. The Dell is by the Strawberry Mansion Bridge and the Mann is off Parkside Ave.
It's actually called The Suck Center now.
The Mann is a way better venue imo
Yes. Park at Penns Landing, ferry over and back.
If you hurry there it’s not. If you’re not early it’s a long line. I did enjoy that most tho just bc it was something different
The Mann’s lawn is much cooler on hot summer nights because of the grass and trees. And there’s local food carts at the top of it. Camden’s lawn is like sitting on concrete. Give me a Mann show over Camden any day.
I’d take getting out of Camden any day over the Mann but the Mann is a better venue

I can ride my bike to/from the Mann
I can take a ferry to/from Camden
The shuttle, when available, is great
I don't doubt The Mann is better for all bands, Sharon Van Etten slayed last year, but I hope Phish never return. The way the park was left was absolutely shameful.
I legitimately had no idea wtf the FM pavilion was.
To be fair, getting out of the Mann after a concert is nearly as bad.
The trick for the Mann is to just hang out in the moat between the lawn and pav if you have lawn tickets. As long as you're okay with standing and can get there early enough, it's a great view. I did that for Phish N2 last year and it worked out pretty well. I was lucky enough to score actual seats in the main section for the Tweezerfest N1, which as you mentioned was absolutely face-melting.
I think the nitrous tanks are just a problem everywhere, but the lot scene tends to be so cramped at the Mann that they're all on top of each other and it makes it seem worse.
Same here! I just Googled it, and the main result was: Freedom Mortgage Pavilion (formerly BB&T Pavilion). The name of this place seems to change every other month.
Phish is not at all unique for fans leaving trash in the parking lots/surrounding area. Not excusing the littering, but it happens everywhere. Take a look at what it looks like after, say, a Kenny Chesney show.
As far as the balloons go, wooks gonna wook.
Love the Skyline Stage. It's so nice to be able to pay the same price to be able to either hang out on the grass in the back or get right up front on the rail if you want to.
Yeah as much as I appreciate the bus loop for the Mann, the transit is shitty compared to Camden. Sure Camden sucks, but there is always a huge crowd to and from the concerts to Patco.
Yeah does the nitrous mafia run out of Point Breeze? I know they are based somewhere in Philly. Tanks are going to be huge regardless of venue in Philly.
Anyways, 3 for $20 no deals.
Because the mann is the best venue in the city
Mann is so much better for Phish with a better lot and the whole not driving/ferrying situation. And the updated lawn speakers are much better IMO.
See you on lot fam
Yeah I’m sure only phish fans litter at concerts. Roots picnic is probably absolutely pristine.
I was able to get into the moat on N2 under the bridge! Sound was much better. The breeze during that Tela was also well timed. Definitely going to be in the moat this run, see you there!
Yeah it's Philly based. It was a trip going from Mann to MPP, and seeing ZERO tanks. MPP doesn't fuck around with the nitrous idiots, and it's so nice.
I'm definitely getting into the little moat on the lawn, for sure. See you there!
I dunno but the Mann is a great venue. Beats the other place hands down.
It could also be that the city contracted them to run the operations side of it
The Philly Tweezesteak! Both shows were killer. But yea, the nitrous tanks and the mess that comes along with it are atrocious. Put the balloons in your pocket for christs sake!

Mann >>>>>>>
The Mann was the Robin Hood Dell West, I always knew the Dell East as just that.
Than you. Your not the only one
The Mann is much better venue. More intimate shed. Great history. Great parking lot with some shade. It’s in the woods. Free parking. Best view of the city. It’s in Philly. Fuck Camden, I hate that venue. Too big and the sound sucks. The lot sucks. You gotta pay to get back home
