I had it labeled with my address and apartment number, and I take my bin inside the same day when the recycling is collected, but I still come back and the whole bin has vanished. This is the second time it's happened. Do I just have to budget for buying a new recycling bin every 6 months??
Take a shit in it and coat the inside. Then if they still take it you know they really love you.

I think some combination of sanitation staff throwing them, losers who take them, oblivious neighbors, and mutant raccoons means that a 6 month lifespan is reasonable. They are free if you can find one at a city dump
Boxes work but I can’t deal with folks who do grocery store paper bags
Steal it back next trash day
Move to a nicer city like Baltimore
