Came here to suggest Tryp. Puts you right in the middle of Lawrenceville which is super walkable and has TONS of options for food, coffee, bakeries and by the sounds of it your main interest breweries. In Lville you've got five or six breweries (11th Hour, Hop Farm, Cinderlands, Lolev, Coven and even Trace up in Bloomfield is close) and directly across the bridge in Millvale you've got two. Plenty of bars in Lville too. I like Stinkys for an "off the main street" option. Great burgers, decent beer menu and a touch more quiet than Butler Street options. If you're into vinyl, best record store in Pgh is in Millvale (the Attic). I'd make Lawrenceville your "base." Plenty to do there and easy access to other things.
