School is definitely getting better and has come a long way, but they have huge bullying issues with no support from administration. My partner has kids in this district. Also, in other posts OP has mentioned a desire to stay away from districts that are into book banning. Deer Lakes isn't as prevalent as Norwin and Franklin Regional in this regard, but there have been rumblings of book bannings bc the district definitely skews conservative. Def worth checking out, but just proceed with caution I'd say.

Saw it announced and was pumped for the lineup! Honestly, pissed off I didn't go for the early bird pricing but yeah that was before bands were announced so it was too much of a gamble. But now, $109+ for two days, while not a bad price is getting up there. Throw in parking ($25, but not clear if that's a weekend pass or per day, I'm assuming the latter) and we may just do one of the days. The problem is picking which day, haha. It's a really good lineup, I don't think the top two acts can touch Isbell and Black Pumas from last year's Maplehouse, but the middle is strong with Matt Maeson, Airbone Toxic Event, Stephen Sanchez, The Head and the Heart, COIN, etc. Blue Stones are pretty killer and Smallpools fits the "festival" vibe. Don't sleep on Michigander.

Came here to suggest Tryp. Puts you right in the middle of Lawrenceville which is super walkable and has TONS of options for food, coffee, bakeries and by the sounds of it your main interest breweries. In Lville you've got five or six breweries (11th Hour, Hop Farm, Cinderlands, Lolev, Coven and even Trace up in Bloomfield is close) and directly across the bridge in Millvale you've got two. Plenty of bars in Lville too. I like Stinkys for an "off the main street" option. Great burgers, decent beer menu and a touch more quiet than Butler Street options. If you're into vinyl, best record store in Pgh is in Millvale (the Attic). I'd make Lawrenceville your "base." Plenty to do there and easy access to other things.

Really good suggestions here for cabin / mountain / wooded getaways and it sounds like that's what you're after. If you looking at other suggestions and want a more urban setting, honestly Cleveland is pretty kick ass for a quick weekend getaway. Art Museum is killer (and it's free!), Cleveland Zoo is pretty great, obviously rock n Roll Hall of Fame. And there are a lot of cool little areas - Tremont is pretty cool, has an amazing "dive" bar with excellent food in the Rowley Inn as well as Prosperity Social Club, a few cool breweries (Phunkenship is a pretty neat spot if you're into wild fermented/sours) and the Westside Market. Could easily make a quick weekend out of a trip to Cleveland.

This is me...almost. I did have other head cold symptoms - balloon like headache/earache/head pain and some stuffiness, but my throat is BY FAR the worst. No fever. But my throat has been so bad, hard to swallow, painful, etc. Lymph nodes hella swollen. I almost lost my voice and its been tough to talk. Mine did start late last week though so I chalk it up to normal head cold/flu type thang bc I felt pretty bad this past weekend.

Couple questions. I'm not above driving to Cleveland just for a dinner. Have done it before (Rowley Inn - GREAT dive-ish bar in Tremont) and have driven just for Cleveland Zoo winter lights. I've never had Dim Sum. Do they offer this all day? In research, traditionally it's a brunch / lunch meal. I also see it's meant to be shared, sooooo how frowned upon will it be if I'm solo, haha? Also, kid friendly? Sounds like it. My kiddo will def try some new stuff, and the small plates will mean he'd be excited (without the commitment to have a whole plate of a new food to consume), but you know, not sure if it's frowned upon with this type of service. Can it get super expensive?? Thanks!

Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History if they're more "mature." Children's Museum is great too, but I'd vote for the Carnegie Museums. Both museums are connected and one ticket gets you into each. I don't think they'd be too into the Art side (my 8 year old is in spurts). Carnegie Science Center is also GREAT but can get SUPER crowded on Saturdays, though if you don't mind it's a good time plus the Sportsworks which is cool. Other option would be outdoor ice skating at Schenley ice rink. Can couple Phipps into that, but unless your kids are into plants and stuff (mine is!) it might fall flat. Any of those would be worth researching to see what aligns more prominently with your family! As far as dinner spots go, yeah I'd say no to the Grand Concourse. Depends what kind of meal you want, but search the community for posts and you'll find something. What kind of food and whatnot. There's some really cool local restaurants that have good food and are in good spots and not all fluff and no meat like Grand Concourse.

P.S. We visited Columbus for the first time last October for a concert and LOVED it! Even discovered Thunderkiss Coffee (a coffee roaster) and have ordered beans twice since. Cbus is a cool town!

I use this daily face moisturizer and it contains SPF 15. It's part of my daily routine and I use it partly because it has a low SPF sunscreen quality to it (the product also works well for my skin). In the summer if I'm doing outdoor activities I also apply more powerful dedicated sunscreen to my face and reapply as needed depending on how long I'm outside. This is mostly on weekends and not during the workweek.

I really don't understand why folks don't just go straight to NWS for weather. Twitter, their website, all of it. I love NWS. Plenty of information for both the lay (me) person and the more weather interested folks!

So our experience with Fat Cat's was it used to be good, like pretty pretty good, then around a year ago things dipped and it topped out at a solid meh. Most times it sucked in the past year. We haven't tried it recently so we'll give it another shot with it being new owners. u/ddesigns said former owner was a douchebag and he definitely was, so we're pumped to see new ownership.
