I just moved to the city from out of state, and I’m trying to find new ways to meet people. I’m a writer, so I thought a writer’s group would be a good place to start, but most of the ones I’m finding on Google don’t seem to be active. Does anyone know of any active clubs or groups near-ish to Northside? I’m primarily looking for a place for sharing and critique, but, honestly, ya boy just needs to make some friends.

You may have luck checking with your local library branch. I see a "Writer's Workshop" event at Northland Public Library (in the North Hills) in a few weeks. It's not a writer's group but maybe it'll be of interest or you may be able to make some connections.
