I always assumed they ran into a cash flow problem and had to put development on hold.

I heard it was site contamination that delayed things. Forgot what the source of that info was though, so take it with a grain of salt.

It does appear that there’s been some changes there in the past few months, hopefully they’ve got a path forward.

I asked at the other Dune Brothers, and the employees also told me the soil was contaminated and they couldn't build.

If its the lot south of the bagel company it used to be a gas station so that would make sense. Dune can prob find a better location anyway, maybe up around blackstone

This is a common problem on locations which were once gas stations w/underground holding tanks. In most cases those fuels have seeped out of the tanks and contaminated the ground. To eradicate the issue requires large sums of money in a process called bio-remediation. They actually flood the land with living organisms which eat, (absorb) the toxins. Some service fees can easily rise into the millions.
