Update - the man did willingly get in the ambulance and go with them

I know the media usually doesn't cover incidents like this to avoid encouraging copycats. I wonder how frequently they occur.
I know a few years ago, atlanta had about 6 in one summer.
And wouldn't fencing on these bridges help some?

I can't speak to overall frequency, but this particular individual would linger by the rail on a weekly basis last year until calmed down by police and medical personnel, before being whisked away in an ambulance. I haven't seen them out there since maybe April of last year, but the scenario played out the same as it always used to.

I wonder if this is the same person I called 911 for about a year ago. It was around 9pm and I was heading south over the bridge, and he was leaning against the rail with his head on his arms...a defeated posture. I thought I saw him again a few months ago and wondered if it was the same person.

Potential jumper on the Manchester Bridge. They were just picked up by an ambulance.

As in the jumper is now safe?

Well, they're under medical supervision and no longer on the bridge, so..."marginally better"?
Soigne-Pilot t1_j9ky8ov wrote
Yeah, that’s better.

Let me preface this with, hope everyone is ok.

I'm guessing water rescue, or water rescue practice.

Unfortunately, there is someone on the Manchester bridge considering jumping. Police and EMS are on the scene talking to him
