The chimney on my new (to me) house needs to be rebuilt from the roof line up due to a neglected crown. Anyone have a good recommendation for someone who does this type of work? I had one company out so far but the price seem high and I want to get a few quotes.

Chimney savers (and we’ve also used cougots). Chimney savers did a much better job, at least for us.

There's definitely some good names in here. What I would say is that the cost of any trade is much higher these days. Fewer tradesmen means they get a TON of business and have raised prices accordingly. Because you said you bought a new house, it's worth noting for any future project of yours. Get lots of quotes and get them before you need the work done because it can take a while for good tradesmen to find time to quote a job!

Really? I was quoted almost $4 grand for just a liner from Cougot's then an additional $600 each for "repairing and sealing the mortar crown" and replacing the cap.
