The last picture is gorgeous and well worthy of printing and framing professionally. Well done.

Not yet, but I've heard about it. Hope to catch it in pics one day.

Saw one out on the Amelia/Chesterfield border 2-3 years ago in October. Right at the 360/604 “Chula Junction” intersection. It was with a decent sized herd on farm land. I’m 1000% sure it did not make it though Thanksgiving. It was very close to the highway, and folks were slowing down to see it.

We have a couple albino deer down here in the Woodlake area! So fun to see, even if they’re poor genetics for the population.

Saw one at Timber Bluff and Lake Bluff last month. It just stood there quietly it did nothing while my son and I pulled up next to it to say hello. This was around 11:00 p.m.

Very cool. Keep an eye on him and watch how his antlers grow! Also you said this was your backyard, do you ever find sheds back there?

We have not found any yet, but we just moved into this house in December so we haven't been here very long.

Oooh can you PM me this location? My kid would go apeshit if we saw deer!

Sorry, its literally my backyard. I took these shots standing a few feet off my porch.

If it helps I'm in the Reed's Hill neighborhood of Midlothian. There's a group of about 25 deer that pass through near Old Gun every morning around 7a and in the evening around 6p.

Go to the park by James river high school early morning or dusk.

The deer are so used to people at Robious Landing now, you can nearly run straight into them on the trails! They must here people coming, but just don’t care to move sometimes until the last second.

That’s the name! What reminded me of the question here is taking my great aunts out for a ride. Slowly driving to see water maybe 5pm during spring. See like 2 dozen deer hanging out “oh hey car people what’s up?” The old ladies still talk about it.

I grew up in Reed’s Landing and somehow have never heard of Reed’s Hill! My parents still live there, and routinely see bachelor herds of around ten bucks. Truly so cool to see, especially when they’re not in rut but are practicing fighting etc.

Reeds Hill is also known as Foundry Run and Spring Creek. There are no signs that call it Reeds Hill. It's off Old Gun W

Are these whitetails?

TheRealBikeMan t1_je9aul3 wrote

I think it's just one whitetail, but yeah. When they turn and run, their tail flips up and their tail to their butt is all white

thriftyshirt OP t1_je9us2j wrote

Yes. Part of a group of 15-20 that roll through almost every day.

I live off Old Gun and recognized immediately! We also call it the deer highway. This area has so much wildlife!
