Maybe I'm just quibbling over nothing, but it seems particularly fucked up to call out for help in order to find a target you can mug. Fuck these people, I hope the victim is okay

I feel terrible sometimes because when a random stranger asks for help, my first response is to be suspicious and stay away. Situations like this make me feel somewhat justified?

No fuckin way do two yelling running kids need any help from me. I’ll get safe and away as fast as possible and call 911 if the situation seems to call for it.

I don’t believe that anyone thinks you are quibbling over nothing….

That's a pretty typical crime tactic.

I had a neighbor who always joked around with his roommate well I never knew him, he stayed in mostly, he actually left the house, and was sneaking up on the roommate who was a female, I saw this with my son and had my phone on 911, but thankfully she called out that it was alright, because I do not take it lightly as someone who has been abused, I always got my eyes on my surroundings and if someone calls out for help I call 911 first, always have someone on the phone with you, because of this exact situation where someone will take advantage of you.

Well if all else fails, maybe this is why people tell other to yell FIRE instead when they’re in trouble
