I wish I knew what the situation on that one was, just for the sake of my burning curiosity. Still I'm very glad that this subreddit taught me last year that the Active Calls website exists. It's interesting to learn which areas of the city (or even specific blocks) get a lot of calls. I've seen "officer down" on there a few times (but I've never heard/learned anything about what had happened). What amazes me is how often I see "IN-PROGRESS (Assault or battery by mob)" on there.

My guess would be the call descriptions are pretty non-specific. If someone calls and says they've been assaulted by two guys I'd guess that'd show up as a mob on the site. Just my assumption since I haven't experienced many random encounters with roving mobs.

As a resident it was no fire just a non resident trying to get inside the building and set off the alarm!

A billion years ago (ok fine, like 10-12), I worked at a restaurant that did delivery, so I would keep the site up so drivers could see any issues they needed to avoid. It used to populate with more information. Like, the entry would be something like ā€œMVA Property Damageā€ and there would be a box with a small description. Stuff like ā€œfemale driver drunk and belligerentā€. I assume they stopped for privacy reasons, but it could get entertaining.

The last time I remember seeing the mayday report on active calls (maybe a year and a half ago), it turned out the officer hit the button by accident. It's like a panic button rather than a verbal command into the radio.
