Unless they've upgraded to a stealth plane, I'm sure they're showing up on radar. If you're saying it doesn't show up on your app or tracking website, which one(s) are you using?

They can pay to have their info blocked on tracking apps. They show up on my radar just fine 😇

The active calls page switched from live listings to delayed ones not long ago, also. It claims to be on a 15-minute delay but it's more like 20 or 25. Looks like the police don't like the public to know what they're doing.

FlightRadar24 and FlightAware have been known to censor police and military aircraft. You might want to try ADS-B Exchange. I haven’t verified if the local police aircraft show up there or not.

I think the same now also applies to ads-b. I don’t claim to know the how or why, but I’ve seen both low flying military helicopters and the police plane overhead in the last few days and they weren’t being displayed on the site.

It used to always be visible on the FlightRadar24 website but it doesn't display anymore.

I agree. The loud endless circling on a nice afternoon or late at night is even more annoying when it's a secret police plane.

That is literally what I said but the question was ‘why’

Mr. Manfredjinsinjin said it's a smokescreen. Double bluff. It's an X-K-Red-27 technique.
