Narwhals hung out where the oracs didn’t. Now the ice is melting giving the previous frozen ocean more ground for the orcas to go and they are now munchin down on narwhals

The big one is Hudson Bay is open water in the south and the narwhals used it as a breeding ground / feeding ground. The “entrance” is way north and is usually iced in. Orcas couldn’t traverse it, but narwhal could. Now receding sea ice allows the orcas to swim around, herd the narwhal groups to the shallows and just slaughter them.
