You only need to re-register if you move, change your name, or if you haven’t voted in 4+ years.

Libraries are great. Librarians will help you register. You can also register when you update your license if you’ve moved. That makes it easy if you move a lot. Two birds one stone. And now you also have to show ID to vote soooo your registration and ID need to match anyway. Though there might be some other documents you can use. Not sure about that.

You can also register online. Don’t get discouraged. Bureaucracy can be discouraging, but there’s often a reason for every hurdle. Some of them stupid, some aren’t but they seem like it.

I’m not sure if Connecting Grounds provides addresses. There is a social worker at the Midtown library from 2-4 today. She might be able to help you out.

If you are still registered in Ash Grove I think you should be able to vote there. If nothing else, they can help you get an address so you can be registered for next time (there’s more elections in April).

You can still vote at the location it tells you you can vote at, and if you were registered in greene county (not 100% of republic is greene county) you can vote at one of the "anyone registered in the county can vote here" places like the city utilities bus terminal and on campus somewhere (i forget). You just need an unexpired missouri ID.

Then you should be able to go to the last place you were registered and vote there - just need an ID that shows the same address that they have on file

Also the registry website showed me options for green county like the county clerk and stuff so I assume I'm voting in Greene County. I'd much prefer to vote in Springfield but could maybe find s way to republic (the Lamborfeeties?)

It's all free. Voting, voter registration, all those things. We went though a little thing called the Jim crow era and the poll tax, and we are pass that now. But anyways, walk into the greene county clerks office when they are open sometime this week and you can cast an absentee ballot, otherwise vote on election day at your polling place or one of the central polling places.

I believe you can still vote so long as you have an ID of some kind and are in the appropriate voting location. It’s called a “provisional” vote, meaning (and this where I might’ve misunderstood the people running the ballot booths) you can register there & as long as the information on the registration app matches the ID you provide, your vote will be counted and you should receive a voter ID some time after that. This is what I did for the primaries. Again, I might be wrong so please correct me if you know more details regarding provisional votes. This is how I voted in the primaries though.

So you're registered to vote in Greene County, which means you have a few more options to vote that doesn't require making it out to Ash Grove, but you can vote on the Ash Grove Ballot.

1. Starting yesterday, October 25, every Greene County registered voter can vote early in-person (with NO excuse required) at the Greene County Elections Center (1126 N Booneville Ave, Springfield). You will need a non-expired photo ID (MO drivers license or other Missouri-issued ID, US passport, etc). You can vote at this place Mon thru Fri, 8 AM to 5 PM. Also, Saturday, November 5th at same location from 9 AM to 4 PM. Up until the day before the November 8 election.

2. In addition, Greene County has 5 central polling locations designed for any Greene County registered voter to vote at on Election Day

Edit to add: You CAN vote with an expired ID! If it expired after November 2020. The law states a license that expired after the last general election is an acceptable form of valid ID.

You don't need an ID with an updated address. Just a non-expired ID, and know what address you are registered for. I've voted for 6 years, legally, with an old address on my ID, but I updated it in the voter registration files. When they scan my ID, they confirm what address I am registered at.

I want to amend this that you can vote with an expired Missouri ID if it expired after November 2020.

The great thing about our country is every single person who maintains their civil rights has the ability to vote, whether they understand the process or not. There is no education or participation requirement to exercise our rights, but, given the widespread misinformation and illegal statements concerning voter integrity in this country in the last 6 years, it's understandable that some may feel hesitant about their rights.

You can cast a provisional ballot and they will compare your signature on it with your signature on file from you registered.

The most recent general election in Missouri was November 2020, so if the license expired between them and now, you can use it to vote.

I even emailed the Secretary of State voter line (GoVoteMissouri@sos.mo.gov) to confirm. Their response:

"Yes.  If the id has expired after the Nov. 2020 election, it can be used as photo id for this Nov. election."
