Wild crow is good eats like pigeon. Trash eating crows, not so much. Remember the nursery rhyme 10 and 20 black birds, baked in a pie? The term eating crow, was meant as a humbling statement, as it was considered poor or survival food when Prarie chicken, pheasant or rock dove was above crow, squirrel and pigeon(squab on some French menus)

I actually know of a crow that's dead behind the place I work, don't know what killed it but it fell down on a really windy day and just didn't get back up
