I live in branson and i was recently put in the hospital. During that time the right side of my hair got incredibly matted. I recently had a baby and cannot afford to pay high dollars for detangling. does anyone know a hair stylist or salon who would do it for cheap or free? I really need help.

Not what you’re asking for, but if you soak your hair, loosen up what you can with your fingers, then use plenty of conditioner and a wide tooth comb and detangle starting from the ends. It may take you a while but if you can’t find any services, this is the method I’ve used.

I hate this for you! I no longer do hair or I would have you drive to Springfield to see me. I can reach out to a couple of places and get back to you, if you’re interested in coming here. No promised, but I’ll try!

Okay. Let me reach out to a couple of people I know. I’ll send you a DM if I get anywhere.

I personally would call the cosmetology schools in Springfield to explain my situation and see if they could help. It's probably a situation and a skill they don't get to practice often. And their pricing is very reasonable. When you call, ask to speak to an instructor maybe.

Afterward get yourself a satin bonnet to sleep in as it helps protect your hair and will prevent further knots and mats. My hair mats so easy because of its texture. I've had several surgeries and I cornrow my hair beforehand.

Congratulations on your baby and I wish you a speedy recovery.

If you can't find anyone, don't waste money inexpensive detangler, just wet your hair and use coconut oil and your fingers, I've had a lot of luck with that.

Coconut oil is good. You can make a "mask" using plastic wrap.

Were you able to get the help you needed for your hair? I just saw this post and I’d be willing to see about getting you some help if needed.

I’m just curious, how does this happen? I guess I have never seen nor heard of such an extreme situation.

when i was in the hospital they wouldn’t let me out of bed because everytime i stood up i passed out. i couldn’t even sit up without feeling terrible. i slept 90% of the time and when i sleep, i turn my head to the right. it just got out of hand.

I work at a hospital and can confirm, most patients hair gets incredibly natted/tangled from not being able to get up for a good amount of time. We do try and use combs where I work to try and atleast keep hair, straight, clean and presentable. All depends on if the patient has any drains/leads on their head that could interfere. I hope you’re doing better now though and hope you can get it fixed. I wish they would’ve atleast tried to comb it out for you once or twice when you were there.
