Why not?

Worst that happens is you suffer for some time and gain experience. If the pay is reasonable and you got a good impression from the team, jump in.

My dad spent over 20 years working there. Makes one think it's a decent place. Bad health caused his early retirement but continued to talk about how much he missed it even 10 years being gone from there

Have you asked for the opportunity to shadow for a day? That way you get to see what the culture is like so that you can make an informed decision.

So there is a couple of cool things about working for src, one being the employee stock ownership program. It's an extra benefit beyond automatic 5% 401k matching. You earn company stock just by working and are fully invested at 6 years. Also every employee qualifies for quarterly bonuses but it's grouped by division so whomever logistics includes will determine the bonus possiblity. They feed employees probably once a month and there's enough work culture swag through the year to keep your top half dressed pretty easily. They also participate in the great game of business and that means open book management.
