It depends on demographics. If you're in your teens/20s, there is Plato's Closet. If you're a mature woman, there's the Review Shoppe. A parent? Other Mothers, Once Upon a Child, and Haute Tot. I don't know anything about these other than they came up on Google Maps with good reviews: Consign it Away, Village Boutique, and Plaid Door Resale.

Hey girl- have you contacted your local elementary school about the Parents as Teachers program? It saved my butt when I became a mom and suddenly didn't have any connections anymore. Basically it's a home visit program with age-focused activities with a nice person who you can ask anything BUT also being in the program means you get invited to monthly playdates- this is where I made a lot of connections with other moms. Again, saved my butt at a very pivotal time but also made me a more confident parent.

I just want to defend them in saying that kids, elementary age, are used to a lot of programming throughout the day. It does get exhausting to compete with that, when you aren't used to providing a new activity every 15 minutes or so. I love being with my kid, but her teacher is brilliant at what she does. Also, we are not in SPS.

That sounds so good. Roots has some really cool specialty drinks - I want to say I had a chai latte that was superb. But my go to order most places is a raspberry latte.

I feel like volunteering is always a good way to meet people. Find a cause you believe in and pursue it. You've got options from "Friends of the Library" to the Art Museum, to parks & recreation type stuff. Diaper Bank of the Ozarks, Ozarks Food Harvest, etc.
