The thing is with all of these car companies that are switching over to fully electric is that it's all for profit they know that they can charge a lot more for electric cars now and force the issue on consumers and we'll all be stuck with huge car loans. All electric is not the way there has to be choices for consumers and either way we're screwing the Earth. Ordinary people won't be able to afford to buy cars in the future.

Supply/demand, EVs will come down in price as more people adopt them and charging points are constructed, some are already reasonably priced. What choice do consumers have now besides petrol/diesel?

What choice do consumers have when EV's have an EV tax that is in the 5 figure range?

EV's have gained market share but the price for them has gone up not down. And every single point of data points to the price of EV batteries increasing not decreasing as the materials they need cost more to procure.

When consumers are polled why they don't buy an EV the number 1 issue is price. And price being a problem is forecasted to get worse not better.

Most people don't have the money to buy a $46,000+ EV. Most people can only afford a $25,000-$30,000 car. Low interest rates helped them afford a more expensive vehicle but those days are gone.

Somehow people always ignore that ICE vehicles are also crazy expensive. The dealer sold my 2015 Legacy for $20K and a well equipped Camry Hybrid is $40K out the door, cars are all just flat out expensive

There is already a choice, it’s called public transport. The planet does not support everyone having a car no matter how many batteries they contain.

You are an idiot if you think public transportation fits 90% of the American society. The way our cities and the way our infrastructure is lacking there's absolutely no way our economy can function if majority of the people take public transportation. It's called choices. And by the way I own two Tesla vehicles so I know the advantages of an electric car brings but majority of people will not be able to afford electric cars in the future

Because only America exists.

Also you speak of choices, it seems improving the situation isn't a valid choice. You know, like how other countries moved from the situation you know, to one where public transportation is the better alternative.

Just keep repeating it is impossible and you will prove yourself correct by not changing it. Its flawless.

We’re in agreement. My point is that making cars full electric is great, but this is not going to save the planet.

Edit: *without additional lifestyle changes.
