Now why would a site called "Drive Tesla Canada" be a good source for anything?
Horat1us_UA t1_j6iez3z wrote
Because the name has Tesla in it, and it is associated with Elon Musk, who will not lie

It continues to surprise me that people just dont get that fast charging IS A LUDACRIS AMOUNT OF POWER BEING TRANSFERRED. Sure these charges shouldnt destroy your vehicle but the simple fact is that if something goes wrong it goes really really wrong.

A Little disturbing. I use a EA charging station 10 minutes from my house. Never had issues other than the fact I never could get 150 kw charge. Might be good I never did.

This is the company that's responsible for the "Dems want to take away our gas stoves" shitstorm some weeks ago.

This is stupid.

Rivian is pointing the finger at EA. Shouldn't the car also be protected? Shouldn't it monitor the input and shut of charging if it was out of spec?

Are you disputing the facts here?
Edit: to the person below me, I can’t reply since the guy I replied to blocked me for asking a simple question—wtf does a steering wheel have to do with this story?

Tesla superchargers continue to be a huge selling point for their vehicles. EA is so bad.

The comments on that site are about as brain dead as that rivian..
It sure sounds like the charger dead faulted and gave the truck the Shazam phone charge treatment.

The problem is one of speed. We had a 110A circuit ground fault for ~2ms before the circuit breaker snapped open and in that amount of time it was able to complete chew a hole in a copper pipe large enough to stick your pinky in.
mihirmusprime t1_j6kxrq4 wrote
Okay cool, but what does that have to do with a Rivian getting fried by an Electrify America charger?
mihirmusprime t1_j6ky9bk wrote
Why not? They literally link the reference from where they got the information for. The Twitter link right in the article...

Tesla chargers being locked down makes them pointless in regards to overall infrastructure.
It makes sense for their bottom line, but it’s shit for the consumer.
