And for the price that it takes for Netflix to greenlight, write, film, produce, edit, air and then cancel a new show; how many more Kdramas could they get dubbed? 10? 20? All of the ones they have currently available? I'm a slow reader with again eyes. So I need the biggest caption size. So with that and all the reading, I miss a lot of what is going on on screen. Specially the acting.

Or at the very least add an icon to the title picture for which ones are dubbed. That way I dont have to click into each show and scroll to the audio section to see if it has english. And/or even show in the description when the DUB is coming. I know the Dub for season 2 of Alchemy of Souls is coming (hell the preview is already dubbed) I just don't know when, and I'm tired of checking every day.

K-dramas are trending now, it's been that case since last few years where everything Korean is getting mainstream attention.

What happens after this Korean wave settles down? They need original shows or just finish whatever shit they have started. You need to build a cache with the audience.

While I enjoyed s1 of shadow and bone, S2 started kinda slow and I am reluctant to finish it because if Netflix cancels it, I have wasted my time and investment.

Started it yesterday and i gotta say episode one of The Glory was kinda hard to stomach, just a warning for sensitive folks out there, heavy trigger warning for that one.

When it comes to Shadow and Bone, I'm very disappointed. A season that's horribly paced, should've been at least 2 seasons, it just rushes from scene to scene, so everything feels kinda shallow. Wouldn't be surprised if the creators feared the "Netflix Classic".

Definitely my thought as well; felt like they tried to cram 3 books’ worth of material into 8 episodes in case they got canceled, likely because they know how Netflix operates. Feels like a warning sign when your business practices are ruining even the shows you don’t cancel

The Glory is all over my Netflix home page but I’ve been too nervous to watch it! Can you reply with a spoiler alert with what sort of violence it is? Trying to decide if I should just avoid altogether!

I only watched the first two episodes, E2 was fine but E1 has >!heavy bullying, violent torture, sexual assault, a physically violent teacher and several suicide thoughts/attempts!<

I'm definitely not a person who gets triggered easily or at all actually but I was shocked by how rough the first episode was.

I'm surprised it's doing this well, I don't recall it being that popular when part 1 released a few months ago. Would've thought the extreme depictions of bullying in the first few episodes would've put off a lot of viewers.

ive been watching S2 of S&B and though the spectacle is there i feel ... listless and slightly bored watching it. Is it me? Or did the magic smoke get poofed out of that show?

They basically did that with 2.5 books - they combined the final 2 books of the Grisha trilogy into this season with 4 eps each, and sprinkled some significant subplots and character interactions from the second Crows duology books in there too.

It was still better than The Witcher S2 at least since it still stays true to the characters and doesn't wildly change anything, but they definitely had to skip or rush some great things from the trilogy, and I'm very curious to see how they adapt the Crows duology with how they've moved some stuff from there into this season.

They're planning a Six of Crows spinoff which is based on the author's Crows duology (these are the books Kaz's gang are actually from) and while still YA, avoids a lot of the annoying tropes you see in the genre and is - in most people's opinion - far better than the main trilogy the show is adapting. You even see it teased at the end of S2 when Kaz mentions >!a drug that enhances Grisha abilities!<.

Pretty sure the main reason the Crows are even in the show (since their duology isn't set until after the events of the trilogy) is because they're much better characters from a more praised set of books - IIRC the showrunner even said he wouldn't make the show unless they could be in it.

They likely will cancel it given the viewership ratings but someone else mentioned they did cram the second and third books of the Grisha trilogy into this season so that should provide a semblance of a conclusion even if they were trying to set up a spin-off for the Six of Crows characters.

Desperately hoping people watch Shadow and Bone just so we finally get a Six of Crows spin-off greenlit
