It has really great parts and a great cast also it is a cool era, but overall the thing is just a mess.

I hope The Duffers don't bother with a Star Wars product.
The next thing they have coming up is an adaptation of a Stephen King Novel and a Stranger Things Spin-Off.
I think there were also working on a live adaptation of an Anime as well.

I guess you never saw Rogue Heroes, Peak Blinders, Serenity, Taboo or Girl in the Spider Web. All have great scenes and characters and some catchy dialogue but are utter clusterfucks when it comes to story narrative.

I don't know and I really don't care, go look it up if you do. Whoever is funding the expansion of the franchise sees it as good ROI.

>This is a slightly above average but not elite TV show.
That means nothing. It is the most watched scripted show on TV. Yellowstone is a smash hit. Critical reception means nothing, eyeballs on screens do, AKA ratings. I don't like the show at all, but there is no question or confusion as to why it is getting the funding.

Of course it will be a mess. It is a Steven Knight show! The guy has no clue how to structure a narrative.

The best part of the show were the Ed Kemper scenes. Everything else is a muddled dull mess.
Mindhunter is almost great.

Yes, everything about the Expanse gets better through the first season. Season 2 and 3 is where it peaked.
The show went to shit when it moved to Amazon (s4,5 and 6).

The reason I posted that is because live action video game adaptations are just so bad.
TLOU was excellent, so hopefully this will be the shift the quality of live action adaptations.

I agree completely. S1 was just ok and redundant. How many conversations did the Renner character have with the drug addict on his lawn?
I found all the stuff with Aidan Gillen to be cliche'd and really silly.
Nothing in S1 made me want to check out S2.
> I've also never really been a fan of Hugh Dillion or The Headstones.
Wow, I didn't realize who that actor was or that he was in hard rock band. He is one of those dudes that is in Sheridan's stable of actors.
