This should've been Disco. Age up the characters, make it live action and make it the current day primary Trek. It has an organically diverse cast that work as a streamlined ensemble, a reasonably advanced ship that makes it a plausible standout for it take centre stage in federation operations. Most importantly, it's central conceit of it being a rag tag crew of survivors coming to represent the best ideals of the federation by learning along the way what it means to be part of starfleet is the best way to showcase Trek to a new audience. This should've been the premise for the main Trek show of this era but I'm glad kids get a show of this quality as an entry to the federation.
