It’s 20%, not “most.” We just have to pretend there are a lot of rural Americans (and pretend they contribute a lot to the economy) because they have a lot of political power.

This again? Yes, I buy those things from rural America, in exchange for money. That’s capitalism - it would be helpful for farmers to learn how it works, instead of relying on billions of dollars of welfare (subsidies), which I also pay.

Farming is an expensive business. Lucrative yes but it can also devastate you entirely if you have a bad season. Farming is subsided to prevent market crash and maintain consistent soil quality. (Effectively you will be paid not to grow)

Most farmers actually understand economics better than you.
