And that wind is no joke. Worked outside today in Ab. and without intermittent sheltering in a vehicle I would’ve caught my death.

Currently 32F/0C, getting down to 8F/-13C tonight.

Tri-cities Washington, which is farther north than Toronto, just for comparison.

It was around -25 in Calgary this afternoon. -4 tomorrow afternoon. +2 on Sunday. This cities weather is pretty stupid though. Wind form the north and we can see -35, wind from the west and we can see up to +15 in the winter. You can see it all within the span of a few days.

Chinooks are a great break from winter, but don't ever move here if you get migraines. Also if you move here, you might find out you get migraines.

I find that chinooks just make it more difficult to get used to winter. I can deal with -20°C with windchill making it feel like -30°C when it's consistent. I can't do it when the next day might be +5°C and feel hot in comparison. Obviously if I were homeless, had poor insulation in my house, or worked outside all year I would change my opinion pretty rapidly I imagine.

Most up and down winter I've ever seen in Toronto, and I've lived here since 1960. Warm spells where I walk around with just a light sweater, and then boom, a foot of snow. Then the same thing happens two weeks later.
